Press Release- May 27, 2021


On Wednesday May 26th 2021 at approximately 4:30 am, the City of Long Beach Police Department and Long Beach Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire at 255 West Park Avenue.  The fire took approximately five hours to contain and necessitated the assistance of 155 firemen from 13 different “mutual aid” fire departments.  The Departments called to assist were: Atlantic Beach Rescue, Baldwin Fire Department, Elmont Fire Department, Hempstead Fire Department, Hewlett Fire Department, Inwood Fire Department, Island Park Fire Department, Lawrence – Cedarhurst Fire Department, Meadowmere Park Fire Department, Oceanside Fire Department, Point Lookout – Lido Fire Department, Rockville Centre Fire Department and the Roosevelt Fire Department.  The Nassau County Police Arson and Bomb Squad and Nassau County Fire Marshall’s Office were also on scene.  The fire was classified as non – suspicious and there were no injuries reported.
