The Long Beach Police Commissioner, Ronald J Walsh, has announced that the Long Beach Police Department will be participating in a county wide “STOP DWI” initiative over the Memorial Day weekend.  This enforcement is being funded through the Nassau County Traffic Safety STOP DWI program, the NYS STOP DWI Coordinators Association and the Governors Traffic Safety Committee.  Commissioner Walsh stated that there will be extra DWI patrols throughout the City over the holiday weekend.  “If you are going to consume alcohol beverages, Please Do Not Drive; designate a driver, use mass transit, or call someone for a ride.”
