Nassau C.A.R.E.S. is a smartphone app that provides a directory of substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery services. It also contains support hotline telephone numbers, a Narcan training calendar, and links to federal, state and county wide resources.
The app allows users to access emergency and crisis services including psychiatric ER, detoxification, open access clinic, urgent care centers and respite services. It is a resource for mental health, substance use and chemical dependency and prevention programs.
The app, which is designed to provide residents with convenient and rapid access to information identifying substance abuse and recovery resources in their community, is available to download for free from the App Store.
