This morning at approximately 7:51 am, the Long Beach Police Department received a call for a missing person described as a Male White, 75 years old, wearing tan slippers, gray pajama pants and a blue T-shirt who walked with a noticeable limp. He was last seen by his family at approximately 3 AM.  LBPD began an immediate canvass of the City notifying the LBPD Detective Bureau, the LB Fire Department Rescue, Nassau County Missing Persons, Marine Bureau, the US Coast Guard and the Town of Hempstead Bay Constables.

At approximately 10:15am Nassau Marine 6 recovered a body floating in the water near the Magnolia Fishing Pier that fit the description of the missing person. Although the clothing matches the missing person, an official identification of the deceased has not taken place.

There are no immediate signs indicating foul play, but the incident is under investigation.
